Class Description:

Detailed knowledge of the stories from another era in Ireland when Ireland in the 1960’s and 70’s was devastated with unemployment and emigration. Country dances in rural Ireland, the difficulties faced by traditional musicians , the loneliness of the emigrants in London, The iconic music figures in Clare who kept the tradition alive against some tough odds. Oliver will play trad music with distinct North Clare rhythm and present material on the story of Ireland in a different time and a different place. In essence Oliver will  re live the Ireland of old for the audience.
