Brian Conway, premier Irish-American fiddler, performs with a skill, grace and force that are steeped in tradition but distinctively his own. Well known in the Irish/Celtic community, Conway has won numerous All-Ireland fiddling competitions, and has been called one of the best fiddlers of his generation. Nothing is missed or missing in Brian Conway’s Sligo-style fiddling.

Class Description:

ADVANCED IRISH FIDDLE B (Brian Conway)
In this course for advanced players we will cover the use of phrasing, ornamentation and bowing in traditional Irish music. We’ll discuss a “how-to-practice” method, how to approach session playing, and how to learn tunes from recorded media. We will learn a few tunes, but the emphasis will be on advanced technique and the use of variations as well as answering any questions you may have. Sheet music will be provided for those who need it. Please bring an audio recorder
